Autodesk Revit Architecture Advanced Training Course

This training course is design to cover three core subject areas in Revit, them being concept design & visualisation, site design and collaboration tools. We have bundled this course together to provide cohesive learning experience.

The training course begins with Autodesk Revit software using its powerful Building Information Modelling (BIM) engine, including tools for creating mass elements that can be modified into many shapes such as walls, roofs and floors. You can also access space planning tools for setting up areas for rooms and apply colour schemes. The site design training chapter covers the elements and tools that are used to create topographic surfaces for site work and add structural elements. Collaboration is an important feature within a project, between projects, and with other users, firms, and disciplines.

  • Create In-Place Conceptual Mass elements
  • Create building elements from massing studies
  • Use Rooms and Areas for space planning and analysis
  • Create perspectives, sketches, exploded views, and solar studies
  • Render views that include materials, lighting, and enhancements such as people and plants.
  • Create topographic surfaces
  • Add property lines and building pads
  • Modify toposurfaces with sub-regions, splitting surfaces and grading the regions
  • Annotate site plans and add site components
  • Work with Shared Coordinates
  • Set up project phasing
  • Create and display a variety of design options
  • Use groups
  • Link Autodesk Revit files
  • Use multi-discipline coordination including Copy/Monitor and Coordination Review.
  • Import and export vector and raster files including exporting Autodesk Revit models for energy analysis
  • Understand, use, and setup worksets

Prerequisites: 

Students should be comfortable with the fundamentals of the Autodesk Revit software, as taught in the Autodesk Revit Architecture Fundamentals course. Knowledge of basic techniques is assumed, such as creating walls, roofs, and other objects, copying and moving objects, creating and working with views, etc.
